The Megabyte Class will be hosting a spring championship this May at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. With a number of sailors already committed this is sure to be a great event. For more details, check out our upcoming events.

Several Megabyte sailors have expressed concern that they can no longer replace their Mark I sail. Since many of you are sailing with the original sail that is ten years old or older, we understand.
Zim Sailing has sold out of their inventory. Evolution Sails, the Mark I sailmaker, was not making the sail anymore and are also sold out. However, after a conversation the sailmaker, they are willing to make a batch of at least ten new sails for the class. The price will be ...Read Full Post »

We are proud to announce the appointment of a new Megabyte Class president, Jim Crabtree, of Jefferson City MO. Jim brings a new wave of enthusiasm to the class, and has recently developed a fleet at his local club. He will be organizing the class efforts, helping to create and promote new events, and staying up with communication. The Megabyte class association is proud to announce that the forum is back up and running. As many of you found out, we had a bit of a post date issue when posting to the forum, which has now been resolved. This is a great resource for the community to share information, buy and sell parts, and communicate about upcoming events and opportunities. Tell your fellow Megabyte sailors, its back!

Congrats to James Hogg for winning the 2013 Nationals! Here are some updates and a recap from James:
5 races today in lighter winds and calmer seas under sunny skies. Some changes to the leader board with wins for James Hogg and Marc Porier. An update from James Hogg, racing CAN 346 at the Megabyte National Championships in Marblehead, MA..
Racing at the Megabyte Nationals at Marblehead started on Friday in strong winds, rain and a heavy Atlantic swell. After a two hour delay to let the conditions settle racing got underway. Three races brought very close finishes and highly competitive fleet racing. Registration is now open for the 2013 Megabyte National Championships! The event will be held as part of the NOOD Regatta, scheduled July 26th-28th in Marblehead, MA. We hope that the close proximity of the Manchester-by-the-Sea fleet will help attract a great turnout. The NOOD event was also chosen for the potential exposure it provides for the Megabyte class. The 2013 Megabyte National Championships will be held July 26th-28th in Marblehead, MA. This event will be in conjunction with the Marblehead NOOD Regatta and should attract a great turnout with the close proximity of the Manchester-by-the-Sea fleet. The Megabyte was on display and available for demos at last week's National Sailing Programs Symposium in Clearwater, FL. Numerous attendees took turns sailing the boat in a relatively light breeze, but were impressed by its maneverability, spacious cockpit, and power. A family of 3 even hopped into together and took the boat for a spin!
